Through My Eyes
|
December 25th- 5 am EST I should be sound asleep by now, but I'm not. It kind of feels like there's something in my throat, so I decided to sit up for awhile. So here it is the wee early morning of Christmas 2005. It seems so strange not to have Mom here and stranger not to be planning a huge family dinner at someone's house. It's been a difficult year. Dad didn't even want to decorate for Christmas, but I made him do it. I told him that even though Mom wasn't here at home with us, we still had to have Christmas. Once the tree and the rest of the decorations were up, he got into the spirit. I don't expect any of us to be full of laughter and cheer, but I do want Christmas to go on. Mom and Aunt Vangie would expect no less from us. They both loved this time of year especially when the family was all together. So it's our job, Milinda's and mine, to keep the traditions going and the family connected. It's won't be easy but we're determined, so I know we'll succeed. |
